Getting Started

EMOTIA Escape drops you into an afterlife prison shaped by human emotion, then asks you to team up, solve puzzles, and survive threats that look approachable until they are not. This beginner guide covers the first session only: how to enter, what systems matter immediately, and which wiki pages to open next.

Launch and lobby mindset

Open the official Roblox experience for EMOTIA Escape and wait for character customization and lobby UI to settle. Favoriting the experience and following the creator group makes patch notes easier to catch later—details live on the Roblox group page. If you are joining friends, confirm everyone is on the same server before you wander into a tutorial-looking wing alone.

Solo is allowed, but the game’s own pitch emphasizes that you cannot do this alone. If you have even one friend available, use them. Voice chat or clean text callouts will outperform silent greed.

What you are trying to do

At a high level you will descend through dungeon-like prison floors, read environmental puzzles, endure chase pressure from Corrupted Emotians, and push toward cleansing the prison’s corruption. Exact floor names can shift in BETA; your job on night one is learning the verbs: interact, observe, run, regroup, spend Emote, repeat.

Emote and why you should care early

Emote is the main currency for upgrades and customization. You will earn it through play, and eventually through codes when Active strings exist. Do not ignore the upgrade board until hour ten. A small early investment described in the Emote guide makes chase recoveries less humiliating. For spending order, skim best upgrades after your first two deaths.

Settings you should touch immediately

Open the cogwheel Settings menu. Note where Audio lives—you will need it for chase tells—and notice the Codes field documented in How to redeem. Even if the Codes Hub shows zero Active codes, knowing the path saves panic later. Review graphics and sensitivity using tips on the controls page so you are not fighting the camera during your first real chase.

First-session goals (realistic)

  • Complete whatever onboarding the BETA currently presents without rushing past readable props.
  • Survive at least one chase without mashing every key in panic. Read survive chases if you already failed that test.
  • Identify one puzzle type and describe it to a teammate in plain language.
  • Buy one survival-leaning upgrade if you can afford it.
  • Decide whether your next session will be a teaching run or a clear attempt using the full walkthrough.

Mistakes that burn new players

Treating mascots as harmless. The fantasy sells cute silhouettes; the systems sell teeth. See cleanse Corrupted Emotians.

Splitting endlessly in pubs. Exploration splits are fine; abandoning the puzzle lead mid-step is not. Co-op tips covers consent-based splits.

Spending all Emote on cosmetics. Cool outfit, cold corpse. Use the upgrade tier list.

Ignoring updates. BETA means floors change. Peek at Updates weekly.

Suggested second-session plan

Read How to play fully. Run the party checklist if you have a group. Keep a simple note in the floor tracker about which rooms confused you. That note becomes your personal anti-wipe document.

Community without spoilers overload

Official discussion tends to live on Discord and the Roblox wall. Use the Discord guide to find legitimate invites via official channels rather than random QR codes. Avoid script pressure by reading the Scripts Hub safety pages if friends start linking executors.

You do not need to master Lord of Anger lore on night one. You need clean habits: listen, communicate, spend Emote with intent, and treat the Emotion Prison as a co-op puzzle dungeon that happens to wear a charming face.
